Meet Your Coach.

Kirstie Kimball is the founder of Build Power Strategies, a consulting firm for our movement. Build Power Strategies is the home of The Fundraiser School.

Kirstie has 15+ years of movement experience, from traveling the country to knock on doors to doubling budgets for movement organizations. At Build Power Strategies, she has worked for clients like TakeAction Minnesota, For the Many, IfNotNow, and Bend the Arc.

Her specialities are scaling campaigns where organizations work to rapidly scale their budgets; grassroots fundraising drives and messaging; database overhauls; major gift and foundation prospecting; fundraising for organizations looking to grow to $1M; and development audits that look at every nook and cranny of current development practices to understand where the program is prime to grow.

Her niches are: multi-issue movement organizations; Jewish left organizations; c4 and PAC fundraising, especially around elections; and organizations with narrow paths to funding, like those working on ending apartheid in Palestine/Israel and abolitionist organizations.

She founded The Fundraiser School for two reasons. First, because she believes that high-level coaching and training should be available to all fundraisers fighting for justice—regardless of their ability to pay for 1-1 support or their access to senior level fundraisers for mentorship. Second, because she is booked out four-six months and doesn’t have the capacity to meet the need of organizations looking to work with her 1-1.

The Fundraiser School aims to provide fundraisers in the movement with the best tools to run powerful fundraising departments rooted in our values.

Kirstie is located in Minneapolis, where she was born and relocated to after spending 6 years in Pennsylvania and New York.
